The Roanoke International Cooking Experience offers experienced cooks, novice cooks, and adventurous eaters who have never cooked the opportunity to learn about and prepare foods from Asia and around the world. We offer cooking lessons and other exciting culinary events in the Roanoke area of southwest Virginia. We are also available to travel regionally Our emphasis is on enjoyment. Classes include demonstrations and hands-on practical experience. And we promise - no one ever leaves hungry. We eat what we prepare and class always includes the opportunity to sample great food with newfound friends. Culinary events are also great fun! A sophisticated cooking demonstration is a fantastic and unique way to offer entertainment at a fund-raising event, meeting, business catalyst event or private party. Events can be tailored to a specific occasion, interest or cuisine. Empowering corporate team building culinary adventures are a wonderful way to build strong work teams. Groups participate in specially designed team building exercises and cook together with expert instruction to guide them. As participants make their dishes, they learn far more than how to cook. At the Roanoke International Cooking Experience we LOVE foods from around the world. We specialize in the wonderful cuisines of Asia and Southeast Asia: China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and India. And luckily for us in the Roanoke area, we have access to several excellent ethnic grocery shores where varied and inexpensive ingredients are easily available. Most R.I.C.E. cooking classes have no more than 12 students. These classes combine hands-on experience with teacher demonstrations of unfamiliar techniques and ingredients. So you don't just learn a recipe - you gain a whole new confidence cooking in ways you may never have tried before. Our demonstration classes will show you step-by-step how to prepare wonderful international recipes. We demystify those new and unusual ingredients you've seen in gourmet stores or cookbooks so you can go out and buy them - and try them yourself at home! Classes are at various locations in the Roanoke area as noted on the schedule. Private classes are also available for groups of 6 to 12 that want to cook together in your own home or in other facilities provided by us. A new experience offered by R.I.C.E. is a party entertainment demonstration. Both men and women enjoy watching and sampling creative cooking - just ask Emeril! Demonstrations can be indoors or outside on the grill. Asian grilling is great and very popular! Corporate and fund-raising functions and team-building exercises are another kind of cooking experience. We tailor make each experience to suit your particular needs. Superb catering is also available for small parties.
